The exhibition "Duet" celebrates the work of Viktor Mitic and his son, Ansel Yamamoto Mitic who is now three and a half years old.
Viktor Mitic engaged in painting at the young age of five and received his formal art training at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia from 1988 to 1990. After moving to Canada he graduated from Sheridan College and University of Toronto in 1995. Viktor has participated in numerous exhibitions from 1991 to the present. His work is in many public and private collections as well as in the collection of the former and present leaders of Canada - Jean Chretien and Stephen Harper.
Canadian-born Ansel is the child of Serbian-Japanese parents. He had the first solo show when he was two and a half years old which captured a lot of media attention. His father Viktor Mitic, whom he watched painting since a toddler, serves as the catalyst that prompted the little artist's energetic activities on canvas.
"Duet" runs from November 4 to 16, with an reception on Thursday November 6, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. |
