This new version of G ZINE combines our bi-weekly G NEWS, pdf G ZINE and our e-invitations in one publication delivered to your mail box twice a month.
We are open in the Summer.
Come visit INDEXG, we have a number of unusual and refreshing shows on view. First there is Tomio Nitto's Summer Stories. It is the first of an on-going series of exhibitions presented by GOOD Edition. Summer Stories unfolds an artist's detailed observation during several scuba diving trips, all "snapped" into his sketch books like one would have with a camera. These small prints are selected from Nitto's sketch books which have only been shown to friends. The images, all relating to swimming, diving, sun-bathing and beer drinking, are simple and direct - a true portrait of the artist who admires nature and enjoys what it gives. Nitto always describes his work as quiet drawings and paintings. This is a big contrast to the concurrent show of emerging artist Min Hyung's work. Young, fresh and still studying Min is unapologetic in expressing the chaos in her inner world - and trying to make sense of the outer world. Every Saturday evening G+ Screening has lined up extraordinary photography projections curated by artist/ writer Robert Black. This weekend we will present Oculi, the work of five award-winning photojournalists from Australia. Be sure not to miss it. |

In 2001, nine award-winning photojournalists, united by their commitment to documentary-storytelling, formed Oculi.com.au. This unique photo agency reveals real lives and real stories that are overlooked by the mainstream media.
At the heart of their projects, both commissioned and personal, lies a central conviction - to reveal the beauty, wonder and struggle of everyday life; to show the extraordinary in the ordinary. There are no contrived photo-shoots or art-directed aesthetics, just honesty with their subjects and an unflinching gaze.
