Based in Hong kong, Tony Ng is among one of the most important artists in modern Chinese ink painting. His work has won numerous awards and has been collected by public institutions, major corporations and private collections in Hong Kong and beyond.

In the artist's won words,"I used traces of ink diffusion to unify the painting surface. They can be seen throughout my works, producing an internally subtle effect that is forceful, waiting to explode. My works seem to be mountain like and rocklike composition in a gloomy setting but not exactly. There is no grass on the jagged rocks and only those criss-crossing rock fissures that seem to have weathered the elements for hundreds of years are shown. May be my works are a reflection of my facing challenges in real life: to paint is a self-exploration process in search of freedom. And at the same time, it is my way to resist against the outside world in silence, whether it is modern, traditional, the East, the West, concepts, abstractions. It is only a reflection of my faithfulness to my own self."
